Helen is a qualified and experienced counsellor and play therapist. She is a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and the British Association of Play Therapists of which she is a Director. She is currently Chair of the Training and Education Sub Commmittee for BAPT.
Helen’s qualifications include an MA in Counselling Practice, a Diploma in Play Therapy, an M.Ed.in Educational Psychology and BA in Education.
With a person-centred and Gestalt background, she works creatively, offering different mediums to suit each client’s needs.
Helen had an earlier career in education and is able to employ a variety of non-threatening strategies suitable for teenagers and children. Helen has worked as a play therapist in both mainstream and special schools, a college of further education and in private practice.
Helen’s unique offering is the integration of creative therapy within the educational environment. She has an unusual breadth of client base including families as well as those outlined above.
She can also offer therapy in Portuguese.
