Counselling for Teenagers

teenagerCounselling provides a safe place for young people to talk about and explore those aspects of their life that they may feel uneasy sharing with their friends or family. It can be a means of problem solving, or of finding ways to manage ongoing conditions or circumstances.

A young person may enter therapy because of life changing circumstances such as:

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • obsessive compulsive disorder
  • life crisis or trauma
  • low self esteem and confidence
  • eating disorders
  • anger management
  • relationships
  • family change
  • bereavement
  • school difficulties, exam pressure and stress
  • bullying
  • abuse
  • living with ill health or caring for someone with a chronic condition

Alternatively, they may simply benefit from greater self expression, increased confidence and social skills.
